Hello all!
Hope everyone is having a fantastic spring break. It's pretty dreary and cloudy down here in the Sunshine State, but I like to think its been a productive week.
I started research, fact gathering and basic conceptualizing for my latest novel (trust me, it's as arduous and painful as it sounds), and began fleshing out the skeleton of the plot. I'm gonna keep it a tip-top secret for now, but it's going to be a far cry from The Big Five.
This new idea is a bit more romantic, a bit lighter and cuter. A bit more Young Adult Fiction-y.
Now, don't panic, I'll still have the typical Kay Elle sass and hysteria (clever, right?) from The Big Five, but it will be concentrated into a quirky first person/second person commentary of modern love.
I think.
Just get excited. I know I am.
The above video is the writing soundtrack for the new piece. I keep this tune on repeat.
Enjoy.
Love,
KL

Keeper of the Dream
I wrote a little piece about MLK for a scholarship a little while back, and I like it so much I figure I might as well share it here. Link's at the bottom of the post.
Enjoy.
Much love,

Lax Life
Just in case you all weren't totally convinced of how much of a gangster I am, here's some solid proof...
I've been playing Varsity Lacrosse for about three years now. I'm a defender, so it's not often I get the ball actually in my stick, but when I do, boy-oh-boy, I run like a bat outta hell. You can tell just by the sheer concentration on my face.
Much love,
KL

Sold Out!
There was such an amazing turnout at the book signing on Sunday. I'm so thankful to have such a supportive church home that will prop up their youth, you know?
There was cake, punch, big smiles and hugs. I was proud my hand didn't start cramping up after the 40th book. I'm even prouder that I managed to look like I knew what I was doing the entire time (channeling my inner Claire Underwood).
I just gotta keep chugging forward. Promotion is the name of the game, now.
You too can own a copy of The Big Five, by moi.
The side bar should allow for several different links to several different avenues of purchase.
Much Love,
KL

Temple of the Universe and Talks with M. Singer
Hey All,
Hope everyone is having a lovely week. It's National Sleep Week, if you didn't know. I've been particularly well rested, but I'm not sure if it's because it's Sleep Week or if it's some sort of quirky self fulfilling prophecy.
Either way.
There was an independent learning unit in my Humanities class, and if we dove into the world of culture and personal enrichment (and wrote a well worded 4 page paper about the experience), we would be rewarded with monetary compensation.
Well, I'm all about the $$$ and being exposed to new perspectives (not in that order), so I signed on.
One of the options was to go to a service at the Temple of the Universe, a sort of new world church ran by Michael Singer. He's kind of the Albert Einstein of spiritual enlightenment, and he's written several books and CDs.
This guy has even met with Oprah. THE Oprah. So he must know his stuff, right?
Anyways, below is my report on the session, and I earned a cool $50 for doing something that I love. How often can the average American seriously say that?
Hope you enjoy and sweet dreams.
Love,
KL

Book Signings and Fan Mail
Hi all,
Exciting news!
I'm going to have a book signing at my church on Sunday, so hopefully I'll sell out of my onhand stock. I think it's kind of funny considering the content matter of The Big Five, which is so contrary to most conservative religious views, but hey, should be a fun time. :)
Not only that but another person chugged through The Big Five in a matter of days, saying she couldn't put it down, it was so intense, and she just adored the characters ect. ect.
She loved it so much she even sent me an email.
You can email me too at: kay.elle.1520@gmail.com
Reviews are my life, whether postive or negative, and your words could be in the next edition of TBF, forever immortalized in print.
And all it takes is simply reaching out.
Love,
KL
